Our Mountain Bird Life Winter Trip involves a walk amongst beautiful mountain scenery, through forested peaks and later into a spectacular gorge. We run this trip throughout December, January and February. One of the highlights is undoubtedly the magnificent Griffon Vulture. With a wingspan of over 2 metres, they make for an unforgettable sight.
However, our mountain peaks provide wintering grounds for another fascinating bird – the Alpine Accentor. The sight of these wonderful birds makes the short walk well worth the effort.
This trip can also provide the opportunity to enjoy other mountain species such as Rock Bunting, Blue Rock Thrush, Sardinian Warbler, Crag Martin, Chough and Raven.
