Within easy reach of Valencia are a number of mountain sierras that provide habitat for some fabulous raptors. Favourites include the Short-toed Snake Eagle, Booted Eagle and the Egyptian Vulture. Other species often seen on this trip include Griffon Vulture, Golden Eagle, Alpine Swift, Raven, Chough, Cirl Bunting, Rock Bunting, Blue Rock Thrush, Iberian Grey Shrike and Woodchat Shrike..
Egyptian Vulture
We run this trip from April to September. Very little walking is involved as we can access most of the birding sites by vehicle.
During the day, we also visit an area of riverside forest and crags where can also see species such as Red-rumped Swallow, Black Wheatear, Crested Tit, Crossbill and Dipper.
